{Past to Present} The Lady Eve

"You don't know very much about girls. The best ones aren't as good as you probably think they are and the bad ones aren't as bad. Not nearly as bad."

I'm always looking to the past for inspiration, I don't know why I just do. So when I recently watched The Lady Eve I couldn't help but get inspired by Stanwyck's outfit. Not just any outfit, the outfit she wore while she slowly seduced Fonda.  Her evening look consisted of a  beaded crop top paired with a skirt with a side slit that looked sexy yet modest, and just a little bit cunning considering the fact that she is a con artist and Fonda is currently her target. Back then this look was daring and admired, yet rarely copied by the public. But, now fast forward to the recent 2012 Spring/Summer runways and  you'll see that this look is still sexy, way more more acceptable and well wearable.

{Past to Present} The Red Shoes

Time rushes by, love rushes by, life rushes by, but the Red Shoes go on.

Nothing inspires me more then a good movie and a movie that can inspire my style too is even better. So when I saw The Red Shoes, which is nothing less than a magnificent dreamy and surreal film about choosing between love and art. I instantly fell in love with the prima ballerina Moira Shearer's main outfit, that featured a artfully beautiful contrast between delicate sheer tulle and the irresistible red slippers. Even though I may never become a graceful Prima Ballerina, this film and the outfit quickly inspired me to put on a stunning pair of Red Shoes.

The Present
Style It

Bright red pumps look so gorgeous when their peeking out from underneath a pretty white dress or a edgy pair of destroyed jeans. For day I prefer suede rather than satin, suede is a little bit more casual than satin.
